As the CONSOLE Project approaches its final stage after three years of research, development, testing, and collaboration across Europe, its most important result is ready: a cybersecurity platform built to help European SMEs develop more secure software. However, the end of the project's journey does not mean the end of the work; rather, it marks the beginning of a new chapter where the CONSOLE platform is fully ready to be used by European SMEs and software development teams.

Funded by the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme, CONSOLE was created with a clear mission: to make cybersecurity more accessible, practical and integrated into the software development process. The project brought together 11 organisations from six EU Member States, combining expertise in cybersecurity, research, software development, digital innovation and real-world technology applications. Over the course of the project, the consortium transformed this vision into a working, tested and validated cybersecurity platform.

At the beginning of CONSOLE, the challenge was clear - cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important throughout the software development lifecycle, while many SMEs face significant barriers when trying to implement effective security practices. High costs, a lack of specialised cybersecurity expertise, fragmented tools and limited resources can make it difficult for smaller development teams to introduce security into their everyday workflows.

CONSOLE was designed to address these challenges through an automated and unified platform of cybersecurity tools and services, specifically considering the needs of European SMEs.

Today, that vision has become a reality. The CONSOLE platform brings together complementary cybersecurity capabilities in a single environment. It supports software teams with automated security analysis, vulnerability detection, security findings and reporting, while also helping developers integrate cybersecurity into their existing development workflows.

The platform is currently available free of charge to SMEs and startups seeking to strengthen the security of their software.
