Background

AEGIS IT Research is a research-driven ICT SME, based in Germany, managing and developing innovative IT solutions for numerous business sectors. AEGIS has a long-term involvement in the entire lifecycle development of cybersecurity, criminal investigation and data management and visualisation solutions, through both research and innovation driven initiatives and commercial projects. The main area of expertise is on providing tools and services in the field of cybersecurity, including digital forensic analysis and investigations, adaptive data visualization systems, access control and network security systems, and privacy preserving systems, and the complete lifecycle of IT systems (design, development, deployment, optimisation and maintenance).

Solutions

The company has designed and implemented the AEGIS Advanced Visualization Toolkit (AVT) that is an extensible software (starting TRL 6) with a wide application scope, ranging from digital forensic analysis (the so-called Forensics Visualisation Toolkit - FVT) to data management and analytics (data-driven offerings as a service for both skilled ICT and not-IT users). It is a set of data collection, processing, and presentation components and tools that assist end users in examining and analysing digital information being collected from multiple, heterogeneous sources (i.e., computers, network devices, switches, structured datasets, IoT devices etc.), to register data about key performance metrics, investigate abnormal system operations and further explore related data insights.

A strategic goal of AEGIS is to extend its know-how in diverse domains and test its solutions in real-life environments so as to penetrate to the market with industrial-tested, robust and user validated products.

Role

In the context of CONSOLE, AEGIS serves as the Technical Coordinator. As such, it plays a crucial role in ensuring the technical direction, integration, and coherence of the project's activities. It oversees the design, development, and implementation of the CONSOLE framework, ensuring that all technical work aligns with the project’s objectives and meets the required standards. Additionally, it coordinates between different work packages, ensuring smooth collaboration among partners working on architecture and cybersecurity mechanisms. It also monitors progress, mitigates technical risks, and ensures that the project delivers innovative, scalable, and interoperable solutions in line with its goals.
